Zimbabwe has a reputation for having very good guides: we certainly found that to be the case at Hwange.
It’s Zimbabwe’s largest park and is famous for its presidential elephant herd and large number of buffalos, as well as being home to other wildlife like lions, giraffes, cheetahs and wild dogs. It’s easy to reach from Victoria Falls – just a short flight or drive and you’re there.
It’s also home to some fantastic lodges. But for some reason, it often gets overlooked. We think this is a good thing, because it means visitor numbers tend to be low: when you stay in a Hwange camp, you often feel like you have the entire place to yourself.
