Soak in the views !
We have to come clean with you. Africa has some of the most beautiful 'instagrammable’ and ‘bubble-tastic’ places to take a bath.
We thought we would plug a few of our personal favourites.
Londolozi Private Granite
Built on the Granite Rocks overlook the Sand River, each of the suites at Londolozi Private Granite has its own outside bath. But be warned, you may not be alone! There is often a steady stream of elephants, ambling down to the river to drink. A more majestic bath time view you couldn't imagine.
Sanctuary Baines Camp
Nothing quite beats an early night at Sanctuary Baines Camp in Botswana. Each of the 6 suites at Baines Camp comes equipped with its own star bath (and sky bed). The absolutely, most perfect romantic escape.
Royal Chundu
Each of the 4 island suites at Island Lodge at Royal Chundu has an egg shaped bath on the deck overlooking the Zambezi. Return to your suite after your afternoon activity to find your bath drawn and filled with bubbles. Sink in, soak and enjoy the view.
Sanctuary Olonana Camp
Gone are their tents and in with a brand new lodge with an entire new look and feel. The suites at Sanctuary Olonona are located on the edge of the Mara River. Each of the suites has a gigantic free-standing bath with views down the river. What helps to calm the soul even more, is the reassuring thought that Olonana has earned Gold rating as an Eco Rated camp and all the water is painstakingly recycled.
The Silo
Talking of water recycling, and Cape Town’s ongoing water conservation efforts, we are not convinced that you should be actually using the baths at The Silo in Cape Town. But with amazing views across the Waterfront and Table Mountain we’d argue that it is still worth a picture, even if you don’t actually put water in the bath!
Ruckomechi
You cannot stay closer to the Zambezi River if you tried. Take a bath at Ruckomechi and lay back. Your sound track? Listen to the sound of Hippos as you soak in the views across to Zambia.
Somalisa Camp
Situated in the heart of Hwange National Park you will find Somalisa Camp. With traditional copper baths in the each of the tents, we loved watching Elephants come down to the watering hole as we eased away the bumps of a morning safari in the bath.
