The Plettenberg used to have a reputation for being a bit of a seaside retirement home. Not now. The chintz has been replaced with a raft of cool, contemporary suites. There are buckets and spades for the kids, beach bags and boogie boards aplenty. If you ask us, it's taken years off the place. It's worth splashing out on a sea view room overlooking Plettenberg Bay. But be sure to book well in advance. This hotel is seriously popular, so you might need to be a bit flexible with your itinerary.
Beautiful, traditional hotel with wonderful food, friendly staff and a very relaxed atmosphere
