The Old Rectory is a truly special place: one of the most exciting renovations to have happened in recent years in the Plettenberg Bay area.
The building is something of a national monument. Erected in 1777, it was once home to an order of monks. And you can still sense its past as you stroll beneath the building’s lofty beamed ceilings and thatched roof: history practically exudes from the original stonework.
But although it’s true to its roots, The Old Rectory definitely isn’t a throwback. There’s a beautiful tree-ringed sundeck for lounging. The interiors feature stylish furnishings and bold colours. There are 18 suites (including a Garden Suite with its own private garden) as well as an outdoor pool and deck, a small spa and a restaurant and bar.
In a word, it’s perfection.
