Sapi Explorers Camp is a new camp from the long-established and hugely respected safari and conservation company, Great Plains.
It’s in the Sapi Private Reserve, adjacent to Mana Pools National Park (collectively they are a UNESCO World Heritage Site). It’s an area once used for hunting game. But the moment Great Plains took control of it, they put a stop to the hunting and set about rehabilitating the land and increasing the wildlife numbers.
Just like they did with their highly successful Selinda Reserve in Botswana, they’ve spent time exploring the area, getting to grips with the ecology and reassuring the wildlife. The result? Two lovely, highly experiential camps.
Sapi Explorers Camp is in the traditional African explorer style with lots of lanterns, tents and bucket showers. A three-night stay includes a game drive into Mana Pools, and there are plenty of water-based activities like canoeing and boating on the Zambezi, too.
