Ol Donyo is one of our favourite lodges in east Africa. It’s in the Chyulu Hills, the range Ernest Hemingway had in mind when he wrote ‘Green Hills of Africa’. And there’s only one lodge in the whole area, even though it’s four times the size of Amboseli.
There’s plenty to see nearby (including Africa’s last remaining big-tusk elephants). But our favourite thing by far was climbing onto the roof of our suite to sleep on the star bed. A magical experience and something we’ll never forget.
There are a variety of activities that you can choose to do. The Lava Tubes are a really exciting activity to get the heart racing!
