Mara Bushtops takes camping to a whole new level. The location is positively Eden-like: a remote, 15,000-acre conservancy bordering the Masai Mara. And the accommodation is impossibly glamorous – the tents come with huge wooden decks and private hot tubs (the family tent boasts two en suite bedrooms plus a lounge all under one roof).
Everything here is designed around the game viewing. You can head out for the whole day or take your pick from morning, evening and night drives. The restaurant overlooks a salt lick which attracts local wildlife. Tents come with telescopes for game spotting from your own room. And their canvas walls can be rolled up during the day to blend indoor and outdoor spaces.
We think the facilities are top notch too. There’s a lovely pool and an award-winning spa with treatment rooms – the perfect spot to unwind after a game drive.
