An exceptional, award-winning safari house and collection of lodges set in a 20,000 acre private reserve in the Waterberg Mountains, just a 3 hour drive (or short flight) from Johannesburg. We think it’s the perfect option for families or a bunch of friends who are looking for a post-safari playground (it takes up to 18 people). There are no daily programmes or time restrictions, just do as you please, when you please – with a full complement of obliging staff on hand.
And there’s lots to do. Fancy zipping around the reserve on quad bikes, mountain bikes or a polaris buggy? No problem. Horse-riding more your style? There are horses too. In fact it’s hard to think of things that aren’t possible here. Fishing, target shooting, kayaking, game drives with your ranger, relaxing spa treatments…. all are available and most activities are included in the rate. Experts can be arranged (at additional charge) for rock-climbing or stargazing in the observatory. You can even take the kids off for a night to sleep in a treehouse overlooking the hippo dam.
