Kings Pool sits in the centre of Africa’s highest density of elephants: wild dogs, antelopes and leopard are known to patrol the area, too. It overlooks the Linyanti River, an area we consider to be the thinking man’s Chobe, thanks to its tighter road network and fewer crowds.
The camp’s design focuses on an immersive experience, inviting the outside in – the main area, bar and deck overlook an oxbow lagoon and an underground hide offers eye-level views of wildlife at the waterhole. Completely run on solar power, there may be a light eco-footprint but there is no compromise on comfort or safety, the tents beautifully designed with both in mind. Here, the wildlife may be viewed from the vehicle, from the river or even from the air, with scenic helicopter flights on offer.
