North west Namibia is a wild and remote environment. And the muted colours of Hoanib Valley Camp’s tents blend perfectly with the stark desert backdrop.
The camp is a joint venture between local communities and the Giraffe Conservation Foundation and offers a rare opportunity to learn about the ground-breaking giraffe research currently taking place there. It’s also one of the best areas to see desert-adapted elephants, giraffes and lions.
You can go rhino tracking or, if you prefer to take it a little easier, head out for a nature walk among the area’s endless plains, sandy dunes and majestic mountains.
