If you know your safaris, you’ll be very happy at any of the Governors’ Camps. The tents are dotted along the winding banks of the Mara River – waters which teem with birds, hippos and crocodiles – in the middle of the national reserve. You really can’t get much closer to the action than this: you’re already watching the wildlife, while most visitors are still making their way there.
The style of the tented camps is more towards classical safari than new age bling, the focus very much on the exceptional wildlife and genuine Kenyan hospitality. We think the best tents in the collection are at Il Moran, which comes with added finishing touches, or Little Governors’ overlooking the Musiara Marsh.
