Remember to pack your tissues. Because when you hear the guides at Fugitives' Drift recount stories of the Zulu War, you'll be sure to need them. Even if you're not a history buff, you can't help but be moved.
The property, owned by the Rattray family, is close to Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift, sites of two of the most infamous battles of the 1879 conflict. The accommodation itself isn't super fancy. But that's not really why you come here. It's one of those emotionally charged experiences that transcends typical notions of luxury.
Really amazing. I was worried it might be a bit of a history lesson, however the story telling was exceptional. Hearing the individual tales of the people in the battle brought it to life and makes you think it happened yesterday.
