The word ‘Chilwero’ translates as ‘place of high views’. As a name, it suits this camp to a tee: the views over Sedudu Island are stunning. As is its dramatic setting, above the Chobe River, on the cusp of Chobe National Park (which also happens to be home to the world’s largest population of elephants).
As a result, it can get quite busy. Our tip? Instead of heading into the park by vehicle, view the game from the river if you want to escape the crowds.
The views across the river to Namibia are fantastic and it's great to watch the elephants and buffalo on Sedudu Island.
