Unfenced and unforgettable: andBeyond Tengile River Lodge is the newest Kruger lodge from renowned safari operators andBeyond.
The accommodation is made up of nine thatched suites nestled next to the Sand River. The suites have been cleverly elevated to create the illusion that they’re floating over the riverbed. Each one is huge and jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Picture cavernous bathrooms and infinity pools overlooking the river, lantern-lit drinks on your private deck, and the kind of tranquillity you’ve only ever dreamed of.
The main guest area is filled with bespoke South African artwork and furniture, and features plenty of shared spaces as well as lovely nooks and crannies for curling up with a good book.
It’s in an area with an incredible reputation for wildlife sightings: the Sabi Sand Private Reserve, on the banks of the Sand River. The lodge welcomes children over 12 but no younger – this is a game-rich area and the camp doesn’t have fences.
